Tamil Nadu government has decided to recommend a CBI probe into the death of Saddiq Batcha, MD of Green House Promoters and a close aide of A.Raja, former Telecom Minister. Mr. Batcha had allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Chennai on Wednesday. In a press release in Chennai ,the Principal Home Secretary Mr.Gnanadesikan said that since Mr.Batcha had been under the CBI scanner in its ongoing probe into the 2G spectrum scam , the Tamil Nadu Government has decided to transfer to CBI his suicide for further investigation. He also said that based on the complaint by Batcha's wife, the police filed a case of suicide. Meanwhile, Political parties had also called for the CBI inquiry in Batcha's death. Batcha's wife and Mr.Raja's brother Kaliya Perumal and five others are on the board of directors of the Green House Promoters. The firm and the residences of Mr.Batcha in Chennai and Perambalur were raided by the CBI in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.
