Tamil Nadu: Fuel tank of Tejas LCA of the IAF bursts accidentally

<span style="color: #222222;">Authorities of the Indian Air Force Training Centre, Sulur, Tamilnadu have confirmed that the fuel tank of a Tejas Light Combat Aircraft- LCA – accidentally burst during a training flight this morning. Earlier, it was erroneously reported that the aircraft involved in the incident was a MIG 21.</span><br />''<br />''One of the fuel tanks of the aircraft caught fire and the pilots ejected the tank, taking into consideration the safety of the aircraft. Both the crew members later landed the aircraft safely at the Air Force base, Sulur.<br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">A two feet deep trench has been formed in the paddy field in Irugur, near Sulur where the tank had fallen. The air force, as well as local police authorities, have started an inquiry into the incident.</span>
