<span style="color: #222222;">In Tamil Nadu, the main opposition DMK, has elected its senior leader Durai Murigan as its new General Secretary. The party's Parliamentary Panel leader T R Baalu has been elected the new Treasurer. They were elected unanimously in the party General Body Meeting held today through virtual mode. The party MP and former Union Minister A Raja and the MLA and former Minister in the state Ponmudi have been elected as the  Deputy General Secretaries.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The post of General Secretary fell vacant early March due to the demise of its veteran leader Professor K. Anbalagan. Mr Duraimurugan resigned from the Treasurer post to contest for the General Secretary post. No other nomination has been received. The party by-laws were amended to create two additional posts of Deputy General Secretaries in the DMK where Mr Raja and Mr Ponmudi have been accommodated.</span><br />''
