<span style="color: #222222;">The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu has announced its candidates for the forthcoming biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha. One seat has been allocated to its alliance partner, the Congress.<br />'' <br />'' The party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has said in a statement, R.Girirajan, KRN Rajesh Kumar and S. Kalyanasundaram would be the party's candidates for the House of the Elders. Mr Rajesh Kumar is currently a member of the Upper House, who is being retained.<br />'' <br />'' The DMK and its alliance partners have a total of 159 MLAs in the 234-member Assembly, including the Speaker. The ruling alliance is poised to win four seats, while the opposition led by the AIADMK is in a position to get two seats.<br />'' <br />'' The term of six members from the state expires on June 29, for which the election is slated to be held on the 10th of next month.
