Tamil Nadu: Depression expected to intensify over southwest Bay of Bengal

<span style="color: #222222;">The Depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal is set to further intensify into a Deep Depression in the next 12-hours. A bulletin issued by the India Meteorology Department in Chennai says, the weather system moved north-northwestwards with a speed of about 15 kilometers per hour in the last six hours and lay centered at about 390 km southeast of Nagappattinam in Tamil Nadu, 470 km southeast of Puducherry and about 530 km south-southeast of Chennai.<br />''<br />''It is likely to move north-northwestwards along the east coast of Sri Lanka till tomorrow morning and towards the northern Tamil Nadu coast during the subsequent 48 hours.<br />''<br />''Under the impact of the weather system, light to moderate rainfall at a few places, with isolated heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today. The rain activity is expected to shift to north coastal Tamil Nadu for two days from tomorrow, as said in the weather bulletin.</span><br />
