Tamil Nadu Congress has appealed to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to help the Centre operationalise the Koodankulam nuclear power plant. State Congress president B S Gnanadesikan asked the Chief Minister to work in tandem with Centre to operationalise the plant soon as it will help in the development of Tamil Nadu.The opening of the plant is facing stiff opposition from the local people citing safety concerns.
