Tamil Nadu CM to hoist national flag on ramparts of Fort St. George in Chennai today

<span style="color: #222222;">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy will hoist the national flag on the ramparts of Fort St. George in Chennai this morning. This time, there will be no public view of the event due to the lockdown. The freedom fighters and State awardees under various categories including for meritorious services and gallantry will be honoured at their residences.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, all major public buildings in Chennai and various district headquarters were illuminated in the national tricolor, in view of the 74th Independence Day celebrations. The iconic Napier Bridge and the Radhakrishnan Road Flyover are installed with a permanent multi color illuminating system, whose colour illumination pattern can be adjusted based on the occasion. They depict the national tricolor in a highly impressive manner since their inauguration last night. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, a five-tier security is put in place in Chennai. Over 15,000 police personnel are put on duty to provide security in the State capital. In most streets in Chennai and other cities and in thousands of villages, people hoist the national tricolor with pride by following social distancing.</span><br />
