Tamil Nadu CM seeks representation for state in Expert Committee to study origin & evolution of Indian culture

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has sought representation for the state in the recently constituted Expert Committee to study the origin and evolution of Indian culture. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he has welcomed the Union Culture Ministry move to study the culture in the past 12 millennia. However, he said, the committee does not have representation from the South, especially from Tamil Nadu.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He said, the recent archaeological excavations in Keezhadi and other parts of the state indicate that the reputed Sangam era can be dated back to as early as 6th century BC. He said, this places Tamil culture and language as one of the oldest-surviving heritages and urged to reconstitute the Study Committee with the inclusion of eminent scholars from the state.</span><br />
