Tamil Nadu CM E. Palaniswamy lays foundation stone for new medical college at Ariyalur

<span style="color: #222222;">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy laid the foundation stone for a new medical college at Ariyalur via video-conferencing today. The government medical college and hospital will have the capacity for an annual intake of 150 students.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the state has witnessed 3616 new Covid-19 cases today taking the total to more than a lakh eighteen thousand. A record 4545 patients returned home from hospitals and covid care centres after recovery.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The medical college and hospital at Ariyalur in central Tamil Nadu will have a grant from the Union Government of 195 crore rupees. The total work estimate for the new medical institution is 347 crore rupees. The Centre granted approval for 11 such new medical colleges in the state last year. Works are going on for nine of them. The one at Ariyalur is the tenth in the series for which the works have just been kick-started. It is set to increase the strength of qualified human resources in medicine besides augmenting the tertiary care infrastructure.</span><br />''  <br />
