<span style="color: #222222;">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has strongly condemned the statement from Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa on the construction of Mekadathu reservoir at Cauvery. In a statement, Mr Stalin said that such an act was against the interest of lakhs of farmers in Tamil Nadu.<br />''<br />''He told that the statement by Karnataka Chief Minister that a dam would be built as soon as the Union Government would permit was totally uncalled for when the issue was at the Supreme Court.<br />''<br />''Reiterating that the issue was raised during his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Stalin told that building a dam at Mekadatu would reduce the water supplied to Tamil Nadu. He said that Tamil Nadu Government had already raised objections to the Cauvery Management Authority.</span><br />
