<span style="color: #222222;">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has asked the Centre to allocate ten thousand seats for the state under the India BPO Promotion Scheme. It is aimed at encouraging the Business Process Outsourcing industry to set up their units in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.<br />'' <br />'' In a letter to the Union Electronics, IT and Communications  Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today, Mr Palaniswamy has said the Central scheme has been highly successful in the state. He said, the scheme has generated 8,387 direct jobs and 16,774 indirect jobs in the state, adding, its success rate is more than 93 per cent. He has asked for enhancing the seat capacity in the state.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The India BPO Promotion Scheme  is aimed at motivating industries to set up their operations in smaller cities and towns across the country to ensure uniform growth. This scheme has provided Viability Gap Funding for setting up 48,300 seats with a total outlay of 493 crore rupees across the country.</span><br />
