The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalitha has appointed a panel to review the power crisis in the State. The nine member panel headed by Electricity Minister Mr. Nathan Viswanathan will have the Local Administration Minister Mr.K.P.Munusamy, Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi and TNEB Chairman Mr. K. Gnanadesikan among other officials.The panel which will meet every Monday would review the power situation in the State and submit a report to the Chief Minister for further action.The AIADMK Government had been facing power shortage in the State in the wake of the widening demand – supply gap ranging upto around 4000 mw. Load shedding is being followed regularly for an hour in the City and also several hours of power cuts in many industrial areas especially in the western districts of the State.
