Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K Stalin has announced 6,000 rupees as relief measure for those affected by the Cyclone. After a review meeting with ministers and top officials of the Government on Saturday, he issued a statement saying that the amount will be distributed through PDS shops. The statement said that a relief amount of 5 lakh rupees will be given to the families of those who lost their lives. It added that those whose huts were affected will be given 8,000 rupees as relief amount and those whose fields were flooded will be given 17,000 rupees per hectare. It said that those who have suffered with loss of long term crops and trees will be given 22,500 rupees per hectare. People whose lands with rain fed crops have been affected will be given 8,500 rupees per hectare. For Cattle loss, 37,500 rupees and for goats 4,000 rupees will be given. The fishermen whose Catamaran boats have been completely damaged will be given 50,000 rupees. For partial damages 15,000 rupees and for damages of Vallam Boats one lakh rupees will be given. For complete damages of mechanised boats 7.5 lakh rupees and for damaged nets 15,000 rupees will be given as relief measure, the statement said.
