Tamil Nadu: CM announces ex-gratia of Rs 2.50 lakh to family of those killed due to rains

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has announced an ex-gratia of 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees each to the family of those killed due to rains. After a review meeting with the Ministers and officials, the Chief Minister on Saturdaysaid in a statement that 20 people have been killed since the past 2 days of heavy and continuous rains in the State.She announced a relief of 5000 rupees to reconstruct 38 huts which have been completely destroyed and 2500 for partially destroyed huts. The families will also be given 10 kg of rice,a litre of kerosene in addition to a dhoti and a saree.The State Government will pay an amount of 20,000 rupees to those who have lost their cows and 10,000 for those who have lost their goats.Met department has predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over South Tamilnadu and hill areas of Nilgiris and Dindigul districts during the next 48hours.
