<span style="color: #222222;">Against the background of anti Covid 19 measures being strengthened in Tamil Nadu, the Central and Special Women's prisons in Madurai have embarked upon a special scheme for manufacturing face masks.<br />''<br />''Under the scheme, which was started the day when total lockdown was announced in the country, a target of one lakh face masks has been fixed. Prison authorities say that till date 34000 masks have been made. Of these 17000 have been distributed among government departments like health and police.<br />''<br />''The masks are being manufactured in the prisons in hygienic  conditions and all protocols for ensuring the health and safety of users are being followed.</span><br />
