Tamil nadu agricultural university proposes to establish pesticide resudue testing lab

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has proposed to establish four regional Pesticide Residue Testing Labs in the state. Dr.P.Murugesa Boopathi, Vice-Chancellor of the University said this while inaugurating the three-day national training on Production, Post Harvest and Marketing of Guava in Coimbatore. The cost for starting one Lab is approximately 50 lakh rupees. Farmers can utilize the services of these labs to test their produce for any pesticide residues before bringing them to the market. This will ensure pesticide residue free produce for the consumers.
