Tamil Nadu: 65% digitisation of Saraswathi Mahal library completed

<span style="color: #222222;">The digitization work of ancient manus of the world renowned Saraswathi Mahal library in Thanjavur, Tamilnadu is progressing rapidly and about 65% of the manus have been digitized. The District collector of Thanjavur, Shri Govinda Rao, who is also the Chairman of the Library Committee, said that even during the Covid 19 pandemic, work on digitalization has been progressing.<br />''<br />''One of the oldest libraries in Asia, the Saraswathi Mahal library, which was founded in the 16th Century, has an enviable collection of about 49000 volumes which are in Tamil, Sanskrit as well as in some other languages.</span><br />
