Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa has raised the monthly pension for the freedom fighters from Rs 9,000 to 10,000 and from Rs 4,000 to 4500 for their family members. Unfurling the National Flag at Chennai, she said that the varieties of food with eggs for the children would be extended to all the anganwadi centres in the State.In her speech, the Chief Minister gave a detailed account of the various social welfare schemes offered by her Government. She also presented various awards to those who rendered remarkable services in the field of social health, betterment of the differently-able and for those who achieved in rural development.
