In Odisha, talks between the three top government officials and two interlocutors of the Maoists, to release the abducted Italian national has resumed. After about an hour of talks with the mediators of the Maoists yesterday, state Home Secretary U N Behera said, the next round of talks would be held today. He said the government is examining the demands of the ultras and a decision would be taken soon. On the other hand, despite repeated appeals by the government to initiate talks with the Andhra-Odisha division Maoists they have not responded so far. The outfit had abducted BJD MLA Jhinna Hikaka.
