The much awaited tripartite talks with the agitating organizations on separate states issue from Assam will begin in New Delhi from Monday. Representatives of Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State will meet senior officials from the Centre and Assam government tomorrow. The organization will raise the demand of creating an autonomous state merging Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao district under Article 244 (A).Jiten Borgowary, Commissioner -Secretary of WPT department and Home Secretary Mukti Gogoi will represent Assam government while senior officials from Home Ministry are likely to represent the Centre.
On 3rd of this month, the Centre will hold discussions separately with All Koch Rajbonshi Students Union (Biswajit faction) and Koch Rajbonshi Mahasabha on separate Kamatapur state. The student union will raise issues of Schedule Tribe status to Koch Rajbonshi among others apart from Kamatapur statehood issue.
On 4th of September, representatives of All Bodo Students Union, BPPF, UDPF and Peoples Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement will hold talks while next day Bodo National Conference will seat for dialogue on Bodoland state issue. Most of the representatives who will take part in tripartite talks have already reached Delhi.
