Embassy of India and BP Koirala Foundation organised a talk programme at Kathmandu today to mark 100th Birth Anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay. <br/><br/>Renowned academician, Ex Minister and Former Representative of Nepal in United Nations, Prof. Jayaraj Acharya delivered the talk. He said that Pt. Deen Dayal Updhayay was a visionary political leader and thinker. <br/><br/>Prof. Jayaraj said that social, economic and educational development of rural areas is necessary to fulfil the dreams of Pt. Upadhyay. <br/><br/>He suggested that India and Nepal should start a National Development Service Programme to achieve this goal. He said that under this programme educated youths should impart high quality education to the rural children and help in toilet building. <br/><br/>In his address Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri said that Pt. Upadhyay's philosophy was upliftment of the poorest of the poor. He said that Pt. Upadhyay believed that when last man move ahead entire society make progress. A documentary on the life of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay was also screened during the programme.
