The Pakistani army says a video showing 16 policemen being killed by the Taliban appears to be genuine. The killings happened last month. It is shocking footage, 16 men or members of Pakistani forces captured from their base are lined up in the open. In front of them a local Pakistani Taliban commander in military fatigue lectures them about what happens to the enemies of Islam. He says God wants him to punish them and he gives a signal for his gunmen to open fire. The men are seen collapsing to the ground as they are sprayed with bullets. The army has confirmed the footage relates to an attack by dozens of Pakistani Taliban in Upper Dir district, close to the border with Afghanistan.
