In Pakistan, six tribal elders were killed and five others injured by Taliban militants in Jani Khel area near Bannu Thursday morning. The dead included tribal chief Malik Sultan, who was active in raising a militia against militants. Police sources said in Peshawar that members of Islahi Jirga of Pachagi Jani Khel were coming to Bannu in a vehicle which was targeted by the terrorists at Hi-sur Khwar in Jani Khel area. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital.
