Taliban insurgents have released 12 Iranian engineers kidnapped in western Afghanistan earlier this week. Afghan and Iranian officials on Wednesday said that all of the hostages have been freed and moved to a secure location. One of the Iranians had been released the day before. The Iranian engineers along with two of their Afghan counterparts were abducted by Taliban gunmen on Monday while working on a road construction project in a remote part of Farah province, which borders Iran.
