Taliban frees two French journalists after 18 month captivity

Two French journalists kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan 18 months ago have returned home following their release from captivity on Wednesday. Stephane Taponier and Herve Ghesquiere, arrived at a military air base outside Paris where they were greeted by the French President Nicholas Sarkozy. Their Afghan translator, Reza Din, has also been released. The journalists were taken hostage while filming a documentary in North-eastern Afghanistan.
