A key Taliban commander was killed during a clash with security forces in Buner district of northwest Pakistan. Officials said today that the Militant commander Syed Muhammad was gunned down in the mountainous Elaum area in Buner district yesterday. Security personnel cordoned off Elaum after receiving a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area. The troops then launched a search operation and killed the militant commander.
