Take immideate steps to reverse decision on Lakhvi's bail, India tells Pak

India has called upon Pakistan to immediately take steps to reverse the decision of granting bail to Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, one of the main accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. External Affairs Ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin asserted that there can be no selective approach to terrorism. Mr. Akbaruddin said release of Lakhvi on bail is unacceptable to India.

India has termed the bail granted to Mumbai terror attack accused as very unfortunate. Talking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said India has provided all relevant evidence to Pakistan against Lakhvi. He expressed hope that the Islamabad will appeal against the bail in the higher court.

An Anti Terrorism Court in Pakistan granted bail to Lakhvi. Lakhvi is among the seven persons charged with planning and helping carry out the attacks in which more than 160 people were killed.
