Tajinderpal Singh Toor from Moga district of Punjab qualifies for Tokyo Olympics, breaking his own National Record

With a 21.49 m Shot Put throw, Tajinderpal Singh Toor hailing from Khosa Pando village in Moga district of Punjab has qualified for Tokyo Olympics after breaking his own National Record at Indian Grand Prix at National Institute of Sports (NIS) Patiala.
 
On this stupendous feat of Toor, Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi extended greetings saying that this achievement will infuse confidence among other athletes to conquer the world with iron hand. He said that with this, he has also broken the Asian record of 21.13 of Sultan Abdulmajeed Al-Hebshi.
 
Tajinderpal Singh Toor  was into cricket before switching full-time to shot put on the advice of his father.
   
His first international medal was at the Asian Athletics Championships in 2017, where he finished second with a throw of 19.77. He won Gold at the 2018 Asian Games with a total record throw of 20.75m. The throw also broke the national record at that time.
