President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will arrive on a five-day visit to India today. This will be the sixth visit of President Rahmon to India. He will arrive in New Delhi on the 16th of this month after visiting Kerala. <br/><br/>His official engagements would be on 17th December 2016 in New Delhi. The visiting dignitary will have meetings with the Indian leadership including President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Mukherjee will host a banquet on 17th of this month for the visiting President.<br/><br/>During his last visit to India in 2012, the two countries elevated their bilateral relations to the level of a long-term strategic partnership. Bilateral relations include cooperation in areas like political, economic, health, human resources development, defence, science and technology, culture and tourism among others.
