<br/>Taiwan will open a Trade Promotion Office in Kolkata by next year. The Taiwan’s Ambassador in India Mr. Wenchyi Ong said this after meeting the Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharjee in Kolkata yesterday. Mr. Ong said that Taiwan is already having such offices in Mumbai and Tamil Nadu and another one in Kolkata will bring close business ties with West Bengal. During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Mr. Ong expressed Taiwan’s desire to invest in Food Processing and IT sector in the state.<br/><br/>Later, talking to AIR the Taiwan’s Ambassador said that, his Government is also considering direct flight operations between Taiwan and Kolkata after New Delhi. Mr. Ong has come to Kolkata with 12 members Taiwan’s business delegation on three days visit to the state. For the first time four day long Taiwan’s film festival has also began in the city with Joint collaboration of Directorate of film festival of India.
