Taiwan's Defence Ministry has confirmed that two Chinese fighter planes intruded into the Taiwanese air space last month. Taiwanese media said the Chinese aircrafts were pursuing a United States Air Force reconnaissance plane. The Pentagon has neither confirmed nor denied the incident but the Chairman of the US Joint Chief of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen told reporters that the US will not be deterred from flying in international air space.
