Japan continued their impressive form at the Women’s World Cup Football to advance to the quarter-finals. They knocked out Norway with a 3-1 win in Wellington, New Zealand. Australia defeated West Indies by 157 runs in the first semifinal of the women's world cup at Wellington, New Zealand to enter the finals. The match was reduced to 45 overs due to Rain. West Indies won the toss and chose to field. Australia scored 305 for 3 wickets in 45 overs and West Indies were skittled out for 148 runs in 37 overs.
