US equity indices traded in narrow range, closed mixed

US equity indices traded in narrow range and closed mixed yesterday. The S&P added for fifth straight record closing high. This month, investor appetite shifted away from economically sensitive cyclicals in favor of growth stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.6 percent while the S&P 500 added marginally by 0.1 percent. The Nasdaq Composite index, on the other hand  fell 0.2 percent.
