Rupee appreciates 22 paise against US currency

The Rupee today appreciated 22 paise to close at Rs 73.86 against the US Dollar. The domestic unit managed to bounce back modestly after falling to trade beyond Rs 74 per Dollar mark even as the US currency continued its strengthening rally.   The Dollar index, which indicates the US Dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, rose 0.03 per cent to trade at 91.92 in intra-day trade.

Rupee settles 6 paise lower at 74.90 against US dollar

The rupee today settled six paise lower at 74 rupees and 90 paise against US dollar tracking weak domestic equities.   The dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading 0.05 per cent lower at 93.29.

RBI announces US dollar sell/buy swap to provide liquidity to foreign exchange market

Observing mismatch in US dollar liquidity across the world, the Reserve Bank has announced a six month US dollar sell/buy swap to provide liquidity to the foreign exchange market.
