Srikanth, Sameer Verma knocked out of Thailand Masters Badminton

India's Kidambi Srikanth and Sameer Verma were today knocked out of the Thailand Masters Badminton after suffering first-round defeats. Verma lost to Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia 16-21, 15-21 in a 39-minute men's singles match in the BWF World Tour Super 300 event at Bangkok. Srikanth, Parupalli reach men's singles semis of India Open

In Badminton, Kidambi Srikanth and Parupalli Kashyap have reached the men's singles semifinals of the India Open tournament.  In the quarterfinals in New Delhi today, Srikanth defeated Sai Praneeth 21-23, 21-11, 21-19.  Kashyap upset Tzu Wei Wang of Taiwan 21-16, 21-11. H.S.Prannoy will take on Viktor Axelsen of Denmark later this evening. In women's singles quarterfinals, P.V. Sindhu faces Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark.

In Malaysian Masters Badminton, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth are among the seven Indian shuttlers who will play their first-round matches in Kuala Lumpur today.
