Market Update: Sensex rises 204 pts; Nifty settles at 23,399

India's Equity Benchmark Indices ended in Green today amid mixed global cues. The Sensex rose 204 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 76,811. Nifty gained 76 points, or 0.33 percent, to settle at 23,399.   In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap indices up by 0.79 percent and the Small-cap indices climbed 0.89 percent. Gold prices up by Rs 60 at Multi Commodity Exchange for February contracts

The gold price was up 60 rupees at Multi Commodity Exchange for February contracts. The precious metal was trading at 54,960 rupees per 10 gram. Silver was also down 150 rupees to trade at 69,490 rupees per kilogram for March Contracts when reports last came in. In the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold was trading down at 1,824 US dollars and 30 cents per ounce. Silver was also trading down at 24 dollars and 15 cents per ounce in intra-day trade.

Gold prices today fell 290 rupees at Multi Commodity Exchange for October contracts. The precious metal was trading at 50,125 rupees per 10 grams. Silver prices also declined 835 rupees to 51,725 rupees per kilogram for September Contracts when reports last came in. In the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold was trading down at 1,712 US dollars per ounce. Silver was also down 17 dollars and 60 cents per ounce in intra-day trade.

Gold prices today lost 465 rupees at Multi Commodity Exchange for April contracts. The precious metal was trading at 49,930 rupees per 10 grams. Silver prices fell 310 rupees to 63,550 rupees per kilogram for March Contracts when reports last came in. In the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold was down to trade at 1,893 US dollars and 10 cents per ounce. Silver prices were also up to trade at 23 dollars and 90 cents per ounce in intra-day trade.

Gold was trading Rs 30 up today at Multi Commodity Exchange for August contracts. Gold was trading at Rs 48,455 per 10 gram.
