Sensex falls 8 points; Nifty settles at 10,863

Benchmark domestic stocks, Sensex and Nifty on Monday closed almost flat after logging gains in last three sessions.  Both indices ended divergently amid positive global cues.  The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell eight points to end at 36,068 while the Nifty at National Stock Exchange added three points to settle at 10,863.

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 180 points, to end at 35,650, on Wednesday.  The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange climbed 66 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 10,730.

Sensex plunges over 350 points this morning

Domestic equities benchmark BSE Sensex plunged over 350 points this morning. The 30-share index slumped 360 points to 35,109 in early trade. The NSE Nifty too shed 112 points to 10,551. Financial markets were closed yesterday on account of Christmas. The rupee gained against the US dollar, and was trading at 69.82 a dollar.

Sensex tumbles 272 points; Nifty closes at 10,664

At the stock markets, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange lost 272 points, or 0.8 per cent, to end at 35,470, on Monday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange slipped 91 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 10,664.

Sensex surges 190 points, Nifty closes at 10,549

Benchmark Domestic indices on Tuesday gained more than half a per cent amid fall in the rupee and mixed global share markets.  The key stocks witnessed recovery after logging losses of around two per cent yesterday.    The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange climbed 190 points, or 0.54 per cent to regain 35,000 mark to 35,150.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange has also surged 61 points, or 0.58 per cent to 10,549.

Sensex tanks 714; Nifty closes at 10,488

Benchmark Domestic indices on Monday plunged around two per cent amid weak global share markets.  The key stocks fell amid concerns of investors over the outcome of state elections, weakening rupee, crude oil price rise and escalation in US-China trade tensions. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange tumbled 714 points to close below 35,000 mark at 34,960.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange declined 205 points to 10,488.

Sensex plunges 572 points to 35,312; Nifty tumbles 182 points to 10,601

Benchmark domestic stocks today closed with losses for third consecutive day. The indices witnessed fall of more than one and half a percent following weak global cues, weak rupee and sustained selling by foreign as well as domestic institutional investors.  The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange plunged 572 points, or 1.6 percent, to 35,312. The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also tumbled 182 points, or 1.7 percent, to 10,601.

Sensex slips 107 points; Nifty closes at 10,870

Benchmark domestic stocks on Tuesday closed with losses following weak global share markets.  The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 107 points, or 0.29 per cent, to 36,134.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also slipped 14 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 10,870.

Benchmark domestic stocks on Monday closed with marginal gains amid positive global share markets.  The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange added 47 points to 36,241.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also ended up by seven points to 10,884.

Sensex surges 204 points; Nifty closes at 10,729

At the stock markets, rising for the third straight day, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 204 points, or 0.6 per cent, to close at 35,717, on Wednesday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange added 43 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 10,729.
