Sensex rises 185 points; Nifty ends at 11,713

Sensex up by 205 points to trade at 38,439

The benchmark BSE Sensex jumped 205 points to trade at 38,439 in early deals today. The broader Nifty also rose 53 points to 11,537 in morning trade. In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.49 per cent, Korea's Kospi was trading marginally higher, Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.55 per cent; while Japan's Nikkei fell 0.61 per cent. On Wall Street, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.55 per cent higher yesterday.

Sensex surges 217 points; Nifty ends at 11,342

Benchmark domestic stocks Wednesday closed with gains for the third straight session. Sensex and Nifty, both, rallied even as cues from global stocks were negative.  Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange surged 217 points or 0.6 per cent to end at 37,752.  Nifty at National Stock Exchange also gained 41 points or 0.4 per cent to trade at 11,342.

Sensex shoots up 481 points; Nifty reclaims 11300-level

Benchmark domestic stocks Tuesday surged more than one per cent extending previous session's gains.  Sensex reclaimed 37,500 mark while Nifty settled above 11,300 amid positive cues from global stocks.  Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange climbed 482 points to end at 37,536.  Nifty at National Stock Exchange also appreciated 133 points to close at 11,301.

Sensex surges 383 points; Nifty closes at 11,168

Benchmark domestic stocks Monday closed with gains of more than one per cent amid Positive cues from Asian markets.  Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange climbed 383 points to regained 37,000 mark to end at 37,054.  Nifty at National Stock Exchange also surged 133 points to settle at 11,168.

Sensex slips 146 points; Nifty settles at 10,604

Domestic stocks on Tuesday closed with losses for the ninth straight session.  Both stocks lost around 0.4 per cent amid weak global cues.  The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 146 points to end at 35,353.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also fell 37 points to settle at 10,604.

Sensex surges 230 points to trade at 35,729 today

Domestic share markets today logged gains in afternoon trade, snapping a losing streak of eight sessions. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange surged 230 points to trade at 35,729 a short while ago. The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also appreciated 69 points to trade at 10,710. The domestic currency derivatives markets remain closed today on account of Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti. On Monday, the rupee settled at 71 rupees and 36 paise against the US dollar.

Sensex declines 120 points; nifty closes at 10,794

Domestic stocks on Wednesday closed with losses for the fourth session in a row even as global cues were positive. Both stocks lost more than 0.3 per cent.  The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 120 points to end at 36,034.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also fell 38 points to settle at 10,794.

Sensex and Nifty climb 0.25% amid mixed Asian markets

Benchmark indices today logged gains for second session in afternoon trade. Sensex and Nifty, both, climbed 0.25 percent amid mixed Asian markets. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 94 points to trade at 36,412. The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also added 29 points to 10,916 level a short while ago. However, the rupee at the forex market weakened 16 paise to 71 rupees and 18 paise against the US dollar in afternoon deals.
