Sensex rises 142 pts to end at 38,182; Nifty gains 56 pts to 11,270

After rallying 390 points during the day, the 30-share BSE benchmark pared some gains to end 142 points or 0.37 per cent higher at 38,182.   The NSE Nifty climbed 56 points or 0.50 per cent to close at 11,270.   In the broader market at BSE, the Mid-cap closed 1.42 percent up and Small-cap gained 1.47 percent.

Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty today ended flat as muted cues from global markets and spiking COVID-19 cases in the country kept investors on the edge. Domestic equity benchmarks today dropped marginally, tracking losses in index heavyweights amid mixed cues from global markets. Sensex slides 194 pts to close at 37,935; Nifty down 62 pts to 11,132

Benchmark domestic stocks today lost more than half a per cent amid mixed global cues.   The Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange declined 194 points, or 0.51 per cent, up at 37,935.   Similarly, Nifty at National Stock Exchange fell 62 points, or 0.56 per cent, to settle at 11,132.   In the broader market at BSE, the Mid-cap and Small-cap underperformed the Sensex.   Mid-cap closed down by one per cent and Small-cap slipped 0.98 per cent.

Sensex climbs 224 points, Nifty settles at 9,580

Domestic equity benchmarks today gained for third day in a row this week even as global cues were negative. Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange climbed 224 points, or 0.69 per cent, to close at 32,424. Similarly, the Nifty at National Stock Exchange settled 90 points, or 0.95 per cent, up at 9,580. In previous two sessions both indices rose more than five per cent.

Sensex, Nifty saw upwards trend in early trade

Sensex plummets 1,203 pts; Niffty ends at 8,254

At the stock markets, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock exchange plummeted 1,203 points, or 4.1 percent, to 28,265, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange tanked 344 points, or 4 percent, to end at 8,254.

Sensex zooms 1,627 points; Nifty ends at 8,750

Snapping fours days of losing streak, domestic benchmark indices surged today amid hopes of a stimulus package by the government. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange zoomed 1,627 points, or 5.8 per cent, to end at 29,916, today. The Nifty at the National Stock exchange jumped 486 points, or 5.9 per cent, to 8,750. In the broader market, the BSE Midcap index gained 4.2 percent and the Smallcap index rose four per cent.
