Muhurat session: Sensex rallies 246 points on strong footing

Benchmark domestic stocks witnessed losses in afternoon trade amid mixed Asian share markets

Benchmark domestic stocks today witnessed losses in afternoon trade amid mixed Asian share markets. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 77 points, or 0.24 percent to 33,990 in intra-day trade a short while ago.  The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also slipped 18 points, or 0.18 percent, to 10,233. At the forex market, the rupee also depreciated 11 paise, to 73 rupees and 55 paise against the US dollar.

Sensex declines 181 points; Nifty closes at 10,245

Benchmark Domestic stocks on Monday closed with losses for third straight session amid positive global markets.  Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange declined 181 points or 0.53 percent to 34,134.  The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange also fell 58 points or 0.57 percent to 10,245.

Sensex dips 806 points; Rupee hits new low

Benchmark domestic stocks today nosedived more than two percent amid falling rupee, crude prices hike and negative global cues.  Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 806 points or 2.24 percent to 35,169.  The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange also slipped 259 points or 2.39 percent to 10,599.

Rupee hit new low of Rs 73.77 against US dollar

The Rupee hit a new low against the US dollar today. It plunged 43 paise to 73 rupees and 77 paise against the American currency. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange tanked 756 points to trade at 35,219 a short while ago. The Nifty was also down 242 points at 10,616.

Sensex down by over 200 points in early trade

TheBSE Sensex dropped over 200 points in early trade today amid weak Asian cuesand surging global crude oil prices.The 30-share index, fell by 210 points, to36,631 in early trade. Sensex falls 509 points

The benchmark domestic stocks today plunged more than one per cent for the second day this week amid mixed global share markets.  Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange lost 1.34 per cent or 509 points to 37,413.  The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange also tumbled 1.32 per cent or 151 points to 11,288.  In secondary indices at BSE, Mid Cap plunged 1.36 per cent while Small Cap index also fell sharply by 1.37 per cent.
