Sensex shoots up 976 points; Nifty ends at 15,175

At the stock markets, snapping two days of losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange shot up 976 points, or 2 percent, to close at 50,540, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange spurted 269 points, or 1.8 percent, to end at 15,175.
