Rupee depreciates nine paise to settle at Rs 75.02 against dollar

The rupee today depreciated nine paise to settle at 75 rupees and two paise against the US dollar tracking volatile domestic equities, rising crude oil prices and strengthening American currency. Forex traders said, while foreign fund inflows supported the rupee, factors like strong dollar, volatile domestic equities and rising COVID-19 cases dragged the local unit down.

Rupee up by 17 paise to close at Rs 68.80 against dollar

The rupee snapped its three-day losing streak to close 17 paise higher at 68 rupees and 80 paise against the US dollar as market participants pinned their hopes on an aggressive rate cut by the US Federal Reserve later this month. Forex traders said the rupee along with most Asian currencies strengthened following dovish comments from New York Fed officials, offsetting the impact of soaring crude oil prices amid fresh geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Rupee depreciates by 11 paise to close at Rs.68.82 against dollar

The rupee today depreciated by 11 paise to close at 68 rupees and 82 paise against the US dollar due to foreign fund outflows and rising crude oil prices. Rupee declines by 18 paise to 68.84 against dollar

The rupee declined by 18 paise to 68.84 against the US dollar in early trade today, due to strong dollar demand from banks and importers amid persistent foreign fund outflows. Forex traders said, strengthening dollar against major currencies overseas and weak domestic equity market weighed on the local unit. However, softening crude oil prices restricted the rupee's fall, they added.

Rupee up by 17 paise to close at 69.70 against dollar

Snapping its three-session losing streak, the rupee today rose by 17 paise to close at 69.70 against the US dollar on weakening of the greenback in overseas markets and easing crude oil prices. On a weekly basis, the rupee declined by 34 paise.

Rupee appreciates by 12 paise against US dollar

The rupee today appreciated by 12 paise to 69.05 against the US dollar in opening trade driven by the weakening of the greenback in overseas markets and higher opening in domestic equities.       Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex was trading higher by 195  to quote at 38,880 while the NSE Nifty was trading at 11,660 up by 62 points in the early trade.

Rupee depreciates by 12 paise to 68.98 against dollar

The rupee depreciated by 12 paise to 68.98 against the US dollar in early trade today on increased demand for the US currency from importers and rising crude prices. Yesterday, the rupee had appreciated by 10 paise to end at 68.86 against the US dollar following a robust response to RBI's maiden rupee-dollar swap auction.
