Rupee weakens 30 paisa per US dollar to trade beyond 75 rupees per dollar mark

The rupee today weakened 30 paisa per US dollar to trade beyond 75 rupees per dollar mark. The domestic unit fell mainly due to appreciation in the US currency. The rupee settled at 75 rupees and seven paisa against the US currency.       The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, witnessed a big jump of 0.57 percent to trade at 97.03 in intra-day trade.
