Rupee strengthens 57 paise to settle at Rs 74.36 against dollar

The rupee, at the foreign exchange market, today strengthened 57 paise to settle at 74 rupees and 36 paise against the US dollar. On the other hand, the dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, fell 0.11 percent to 91.57.
