Rupee closes at 81.90 against the US currency

In the Forex market, the rupee closed at 81 rupees and 90 paise against the US currency.   The dollar index, which indicates the US currency's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was almost flat, trading in positive territory at 101.89 in intra-day trade.
