Rupee appreciates marginally by 1 paise to close at 74.87 against US dollar

In the forex market, the rupee appreciated marginally by one paise to close at 74 rupees and 87 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading flat at 94.12 in intra-day trade.
