Rupee appreciates 19 paise to close at 74.69 against US dollar

In the forex market, the rupee appreciated 19 paise to close at 74 rupees and 69 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was 0.04 percent up at 93.91 in intra-day trade.
