Davis Cup: Ramkumar, Sumit trample Pakistan on day one, India lead 2-0

India raced to a 2-0 lead in their Davis Cup tie as Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal toyed with their teen rivals from Pakistan, at Nur-Sultan today. Ramkumar double-bageled 17-year-old Muhammed Shoaib in just 42 minutes in the opening singles. In Tennis, Ramkumar Ramanathan made a second round exit from the ATP Hall of Fame Open at Newport, US today following a straight set defeat against Ugo Humbert. India's Ramkumar Ramanathan advanced to the men's doubles quarterfinals of the Shenzhen Challenger Tennis tournament in China today with compatriot Saketh Myneni.  However, Ramanathan knocked out of the singles event. Ramkumar Ramanathan achieves career-best rank

In Tennis, Ramkumar Ramanathan today achieved his career-best ranking of 133rd position after jumping seven places.   The 23-year-old had earned 12 points for qualifying into the main draw of the ATP Delray Beach Open but had lost in the first round.
