Sensex drops 163 points to end at 55,629

 At the stock markets, erasing all its early gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 163 points, or 0.3 percent, to end at 55,629, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange slipped 46 points, to 16,569. Both the Sensex and Nifty hit its record intra-day highs, in the morning session.
