US Stocks Close at Yearly Highs, Nasdaq Up 0.6%, S&P 500 and Dow Jones Rise 0.5% Each

Key U.S. stocks closed at fresh highs of the year on yesterday, as inflation data did little to alter views for the timing of a rate cut by the Federal Reserve. The Nasdaq Composite index gained 0.6 percent. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average added half a percent each.
